The Realities of Marketing - Part V (Information)

We are coming along slowly with the subject of Internet Marketing and what should be considered realistic or unrealistic.

Over the past 4 posts I have discussed various issues related to either launching or taking an existing home based business into the future and
how we should not take for granted the upsides and downsides that will we will be faced with during our journey to eventual success or failure.

The internet is an incredibly massive space that is in reality in its infancy. We are only at the beginning of the internet evolution and many changes will take place as time goes forward.

Where does that leave us today?

For someone wanting to focus a portion or a work days worth of their attention to growing a business online, well I have said it once, I have said it twice and I have said it numerous times, that without a developed understanding of how the internet works, we have little chance to survive.

What I am trying to say is that if you are in the true infancy stage of starting an Internet Based Business, I am almost positive you have heard issues related to Keywords, Keyword Phrases, Long Tail Keywords, SEO, Adsense, Adwords, Keyword Tools, HTML and the list goes on and on. It is actually incredibly overwhelming as to what learning curves you need to experience to make it on the Internet. And the biggest scare is that even though you have learned a good portion of them and actually applied your knowledge, there is still NO guarantee that you will get well positioned on search engines to generate all the necessary traffic you will need to make money.

I mean it is like learning simple basic words out of the dictionary and once you have learned them you find out that there are 10 different ways to say them. Now imagine finding out after all that Internet Training that what you learned to create traffic is simply about how you say it.

So now you have to go out and search and search and search databases to find out how to say something in a specific way to improve those odds for getting traffic.

Now we could all choose the easier route and just pay for our sites to land one page 1, but I am going to presume that there is only a small percentage out there that really want to spend that kind of money.

I guess what I am trying to say in a nutshell is that we need to accumulate a substantial amount of information and knowledge on how to position our businesses accordingly to get the traffic, which ultimately leads to the sale of our services or products. There are many providers offering invaluable learning experiences online and I strongly recommend searching them out with diligence and only sign up with those that you are truly comfortable with or have been referred to.

Now I have mentioned several times in my posts a company that I have linked below which I feel is highly reputable and provide numerous levels of support. But what I like most is the slow and simplistic and well detailed approach to learning, especially for the Newbies.

However I will also state again that the electing to begin or further a home based business is no easy task and I hope you don't think it can be. You will need to put in your minds that this is a long term journey and that Rome wasn't built in a day. Neither was McDonald's or Apple. You have to treat yours the same way. Take baby steps and set small goals that you can realistically achieve and NEVER set yourself up for disappointment because we already know that it is a lot easier to quit than it is to start.

Good luck and we will see you again soon!

The Realities of Marketing - Part IV (Affiliate Revenues)

Time seems to fly so fast when you are having fun or you are very busy with something you enjoy doing, such as I do with my articles on Marketing.

Just today alone between 9:00 a.m and 1:00 p.m, I have received over 40 emails related to finding a job at home or to buy this and that product online. For me it is a lot because I want to try and treat every marketer fairly and give them the time they are due. But before I can do this, I need to weed out what is potentially good for me and what is a definite trap or cash grab.

I also know that a lot of these emails are coming from Affiliate Marketers, which is my subject for today.

I am not here to tell you what type of a person you need to be, that is not my place, however you probably already know that the internet is loaded with people and businesses just ready to rape your wallets of any spare cash you may have, so be cautious and do your due diligence at all times before you make any final decisions.

So back to Affiliate Marketing, as I was going on a tangent there.

I don't want to be rude and presume we are all Internet geniuses here, so I am going to pay respect to all reading this article and point out exactly what Affiliate Marketing is.

Affiliate Marketing is where you will advertise specific vendor(s) web link(s) directly on your site and for every person that purchases a product or service from that vendor via your site, you will be paid a specific commission. In lament terms, place the web link of your web hosting provider on your site and if anyone clicks on that link and eventually buys from the web hosting vendor, you get paid. It is as simple as that.

For anyone starting a Home Based Business to promote one thing or another, you will find out, if you haven't already that many of the websites that you used to build your site & host your site offer Affiliate Programs, the same will apply for many Product Placement and Advertising sites.

By becoming actively involved in Affiliate Marketing, you can earn yourself a tidy residual income stream. The more Affiliations you have tied with the growing level of traffic you can generate, will lead to even greater income flow.

I have personally taken all the necessary steps to ensure that I optimize not only my website, but my income stream. I am not here to offer Gold Pots at the end of a rainbow, because I cannot. I generate a comfortable amount of money that suits my needs and as my desire for more grows, I will look at increasing my affiliations and other alternative revenue streams. But I am here to say that Affiliate Marketing can only be a good thing if you have a successful website that is generating high traffic.

I will end this article off by again saying that any form of income achieved by way of the Internet/Home Based Business will require a solid effort and hard work. But most importantly, it will require that you are up to speed on as many aspects as possible related to internet traffic. In other words you truly need to know how to maximize your daily traffic and that requires understanding how to achieve that traffic. Without it, you are just a tiny little star in a monstrous Internet galaxy.

Good luck and have fun, that is what is most important!

Until the next time.

The Realities of Marketing - Part III (Making Money)

Hello everyone,

I hope you all enjoyed a great weekend and look forward to another coming up.

I just wanted to send out a prayer to all the families that lost close ones back on September 11, 2001. Our best wishes and hopes will always be with you.

Well now that the weekend is over and I have had a chance to get back to the daily grind, I figured what better time than now to pick up where I left off a couple days ago.

In this episode I want to focus on MONEY, that five letter word that consumes many of our lives on a day to day basis. For very many, it can or does consume a large majority of their days, weeks and months to the point that pleasure and enjoyment becomes a forethought.

Unfortunately, money is a necessity in order to survive and for those looking at running a Home Based Business and promoting that business through the Internet, I can't think of a reason for doing so other than to make money.

The reality is that in order to make money, you will need to be sure that your website becomes a focal point for your readers and potential buyers. I do not know about all of you, but I find that many sites are highly active with an overload of content, whether it be flashing banners or a ton of text. My personal opinion has always been to have a site that is inviting, user friendly and allows the visitor to access their needs in a simple and easy fashion.

I also firmly believe that a site should be representative of a highly professional business similar to big business websites. Having a professional image will allow your visitor to believe in both your company and your product offerings.

To me this is the beginning of establishing a healthy stream of money.

To further improve on your capacity to develop revenues, what has been exploding lately is Affiliate Program or Partnership offerings from some of the worlds largest suppliers that advertise product(s) via the Internet. These Affiliate programs allow you to advertise their products on your website and in return for all sales transactions completed through your site, you will receive a very nice commission.

The interesting part is that a lot of the Affiliate programs being offered are for items that we all use on a regular basis, so depending on the nature of your website, it is prudent to scrutinize what Affiliate programs may be out there for you to generate that stream of residual income. There are so many, you may find yourself buying off your own site and getting a commission back. That alone will save you money at least.

But always remember that without the proper tools to get your website landing on the appropriate search engine top pages, it will be difficult as usual to attract a stream of visitors.
You will need to really brush up on your Internet skills and get them on par with those that have the ability to do so. Without that ability, you will be a lost star in an ever growing sky.

Until the next time have yourself a great day. And please feel free to provide feedback in our comment box.

The Realities of Marketing - Part II (Websites)

Let me first start off by saying good morning, good afternoon and good evening to all.

It has been one heck of a week and I am glad to finally get back to updating you all on my next session regarding Websites. There are millions and millions of them floating around in Cyberspace like stars in the sky which you can only see on some nights. Wouldn't it be much nicer and more beautiful to be able to see those stars shine every night? I think it would.

Well, rather than millions and millions of people looking up to the sky and seeing stars every night or at least 6 days a week, let's imagine now that your website is the star and the internet is the sky. Wouldn't you just love to have those millions of people looking at your star 6 days a week? Let me think about that one for a minute????

Are we all nuts here, there is absolutely NO thinking here, zero, nil!! In a millisecond we all made the same decision that we would absolutely 1,000,000,000% want to have those people see our star.

My friends, that is the plan. But before we can shine, we need to have a star?

For at least 15 years now I have been involved in having websites built for 3 companies I either worked with or owned myself and I have never paid under $2,000 to have the site completed and published. Yes, it was more expensive in the old days, I agree, but I am almost certain that there are millions of you out there who either have no clue or a broad view as to what it actually costs to build and publish a website.

I am here to tell you from my own personal experience that it costs under $149.00. As a matter of fact, I just published my site http://www.igio.ca this week and here is the scoop.

Start Date: Wednesday September 7th
Publish Date: Thursday September 8th

I am rolling on the floor laughing, thinking how many of you are actually laughing at what I just wrote and are thinking to yourselves "yeh sure, like he built a website in 1 day for under $150"

Well my friends, if there are any of you thinking this? STOP NOW

If you look down you will see the results and by no means, feel free to check it out yourself or even build one yourself.

Cost: $7.95 per month Hosting Fee @ Yola, which includes the following:

- Free domain name
- Website Templates for Free
- Free credit to design logo from standard platform
- $77 credit with Google Adwords
- Access to millions of downloadable photographs
- Web Design Support

What you do have to pay for is the photographs. To give you an example, I downloaded around 30 and it cost me $40.00. You will find out that you can buy credits in lots and get more pictures for a little more money. That I leave up to you.

So in the end it cost me $95.40 for a 1 year Hosting Plan + $40 for pictures for a whopping total of $135.40 and http://www.igio.ca is my little star in the internet sky.

In Part III, I will talk about making money. Yup the reason we all are doing this.

Good luck and have yourselves a wonderful morning, afternoon and evening!

Simple Truths About Marketing

Over the next few days and weeks I am going to be discussing many aspects that have to deal with Internet Marketing.

The reason I am doing this is simple!

I have within the past 3 months made a life decision to get involved in various Online Marketing Strategies with one objective. To make money....

I am not an Internet expert!
I am not super rich!
I am not expecting to get rich quick either!

What I have been doing however, is spending a lot of time doing Due Diligence and using the Internet to do it. I am researching Online Hosting Companies, Drop Ship Companies, Marketing Trainers and Network Marketing (MLM) Companies.

To do this is exhausting and overwhelming because I always confront the demons that we are all faced with and that is having the SCAM word in the back of our mind, which stops our progression in finalizing our research.

I know personally that I have researched over 1000 sites, blogs, articles and product centers and I can assure you that every time I hit a LINK, I get a call or an email within 24 hours. These emails and calls encompass numerous products and plans and all sorts of things including free trials and free websites.

Well I learned many things in the past 3 months and I kind of decided to look at my situation like this.

THE INTERNET IS MY FUTURE BUSINESS:

If I am going to run a business, I need to make sure that I am prepared to invest in my business. I am not saying that I have to go out and spend six figures, what I am saying is that I will need to invest an ample amount of money as Start Up Costs.

These costs will include Domain Names, Website Development (If Necessary), Training Costs, Monthly Service Fees, Enrollment Fees, Auto Ship Fees (Where Necessary) and various other fees.

Without realizing these NORMAL costs, how can I effectively run a business.

THE INTERNET IS THE FUTURE:

We are in a day and age where the future indicates that we will be doing the majority of our transactions on the Internet. Current figures also show us that the Internet is the fastest growing revenue stream, hence the explosion of Home Based Businesses.

In order for me to become successful (and money doesn't determine that), I clearly understand that I have to get a quick Education and get up to speed on my skills. By having that education I will enable myself to make the proper decisions to become competitive in an immensely competitive market. It is the Internet after all!

THE INTERNET IS MY FINANCIAL FREEDOM:

Provided that I put in the proper time to teach myself how to become a leader in a vast industry and treat my home based business as a TRUE business, I will allow my self to earn immense amounts of money that will set my goals in achieving the financial freedom I so desire.

THE INTERNET IS MY FRIEND:

If I have any hopes of becoming successful with my home based business, I can no longer have the SCAM word in the back of my mind. What I need to do is treat the Internet as my friend and keep an open mind.

Yes, the Internet is loaded with unethical and immoral persons trying to find ways to get at our pocket books and that is REALITY. But again lets keep an open mind and also accept the fact that the Internet is loaded with highly educated, ethical and moral persons, like myself that are trying to help others learn and grow their businesses. That is also a REALITY!

Over the next few days and weeks I will get more into detail about some of the Positive Results I achieved while researching Internet Marketing Training and Education. This will be useful if you are truly looking at investing some solid time to become a Home Based Business Operator.

I will give you some choices to look at that so far have presented themselves as completely legitimate and ethical.

Just as a reminder, keep in mind that you too will get a lot of emails and calls from sites you reviewed and never let anyone person or company representative pressure you into a sale. There is absolutely no need to sign up on the spot. Every second of the day there is always going to be a legitimate and truly valuable offer available to you so you can begin your business.

Do your homework as I have done and you will be able to source the proper tools you need to get started without the fear of SCAMS.

If you want something to look at today, I have reviewed the sites below and have found them to be very reasonable and interesting. They can very much help you with getting started.
